GEMPAR – MIC Hunger Protest – 100000 Crowd!

by SK Durai

“PETALING JAYA: About 100 people are expected to stage a hunger strike tomorrow in Klang against the Selangor state government, accusing the latter of failing to address their grouses.

The hunger strike, which would commence from 11am till 5pm, would be spearheaded by the Klang Consumer Association supported by several former estate workers’ families from Bukit Raja.

MIC Youth chief T Mohan would be also be present to receive a memorandum from the protesters who would gather at Tengku Kelana.

Speaking to FMT, Mohan said the hunger strike was being staged as the Pakatan Rakyat state government had failed to answer several issues affecting the Indian community.”

Out of pure curiosity, I decided to go to Klang just to check out the above so called hunger protest. I reached Tengku Kelana around 12 pm and didn’t see anything unusual going on. Around 12.30 pm , some MIC members started using their loudhailers to try and attract the crowd. Unfortunately, nobody was really bothering them, and they looked like a complete joke making a fool of themselves.

Malaysian Indians main problem - No 'pintu gerbang' in Klang Little India

An information camp was set up nearby by MIC members, and I went close to the tents and started snapping some pictures. I seriously pity them, even the media was not there to do coverage. I saw some familiar MIC faces, and they immediately recognized me. I smiled at them, they did the same. MIC Youth leader, T. Mohan was also there. Read more…

The Real Dogs of Malaysia

Vin Navinder Kumar

This is something very sensitive to me. It concerns innocent lives. It is about lives that cannot differentiate right from wrong. This is about the lives of dogs. If you read the Metro section of the Star (17 May 2012), it says there are a few dog breeds that are going to be banned. To the municipal hall, if you ever had brains. If you ever had common sense, you would probably know that dogs are highly protective of their owners. So, if a dog kills a civilian, it’s just being protective of its owner. It is up to the owner to have control of their dogs. Just because a few bastards couldn’t control their dogs, you are going to ban 7 species of dogs?

What kind of fucking logic is that? You should just make a new law whereby owners should be qualified to own those dog species. And then I read another case where the Municipal Hall had killed a few puppies. It’s sick of you people to kill animals like that. Damn all of you to hell for that. So, if some guy owns a Rottweiler he can control, are you people going to put it to sleep because it can be a potential threat to civilians? Please la weyh. Otak korang ok ke tak? Don’t kill dogs just because you hate them, bitches. Next time, if a dog kills a civilian, shoot the owner. Not the dogs. Read more…

I know Little bit Tamil

Taranya Keereen

This is an issue which has been nagging me for years which I am finally happy that I am being given a chance to express it.

The issue that I want to highlight is the use of our mother tongue, Tamil or Malayalam or Telugu for that matter. I understand that although we are all categorized as Indians in this country but in our own way we are of many different types of clans and thus we have different types of language we practice. What I don’t understand is that since when English became our mother tongue? Did our great-grandparents have illicit affairs with the Mat Sallehs who were in Malaysia before our independence? Is that why we have so many dark skinned vellekaren walking amongst us?

Honestly I am sick and tired of listening to Indians who keeps SPEAKING broken English to their kids at temples, dhevarem classes and bharathanatyam classes.Seriously what the hell? Come on, these people are coming there to enhance the Indian tradition but are ashamed to speak their own mother tongue? If we don’t practice our mother tongue then who is going to speak it? Chinese?  Or better still Americans?

The other day I was at the temple going about my business when I heard something which made me rooted to the spot I was standing and turn around. I saw this lady (might be in the age group of 40+ ) who was explaining to her niece of 6 or 7 years old bout Mother Durga. The only thing which made me pissed was not her explanation but the language she used. For God’s sake that lady who should obviously know Tamil (since when Indians in the olden days were fluent in English? So her parents definitely would have communicated with her in Tamil, shoot me if she can’t speak Tamil cause I can and I am way younger than her) was explaining to the girl or more likely introducing her to Goddess Durgama in English. How corny. What a shame for the Indian community that an introduction between a deity and her young devotee is done in English. Oh and did I mention that she did it in Tanglish which is the broken English that most Indians are so proud of parading around? Read more…

Sleeping With The Enemy

Mathumieka Muniandi

The title and topic does not depart from the original novel by Nancy Price. This is a true story. Note; (I’ve changed their names for privacy sake.)

Lolita thought, she had it all. A husband to buy her the new iPhone, wonderful foreign trips in which she can snap 1001 pictures and upload all of them via Facebook to get the Oooohs and Aaaahs and other envious comments from single women like uh ah ME, wonderful children who are like complimentary accessories to her persona ala Victoria Beckham with Baby Harper…but she thought wrong. She led a fake life, but from the eyes of a Facebooker, she had it all.

Lolita’s husband is the King of all conniving toads. He convinced her she’s the crazy one who wasn’t up to her mark as a wife. He brought back the other woman to the house he shares with his wife and children and had sex in front of Lolita. He hit Lolita when questioned. He called her derogatory names. He simply told her to put up with his shit and his throbbing lust for the other woman. In other words, he said “Irentha iredi, Illati podi”, (If you want to stay with me even though I’m a piece of shit, then stay, if you want to leave it’s your loss!) Read more…

Maire1 PSA for International Womens Day 2012

Nedumaran Elangovan

(I wanted to write something lighter this week as the gangster thing kinda turned into a monster and made myself and Durai as main targets for parang swinging form 2 kids. )

A close friend of mine commented on my FB that, “you are losing friends every day”. This was in reaction to my FB statuses that tend to be a bit blunt and makes people some people ‘sakit-hati’. In my defence, FB does ask you what you have in you mind right?

Have to admit, I do have alot of friends in FB, as I went to 4 different schools, lived in 5 different cities, attended 2 different colleges and worked at about 8 different places. 10 people or more from each place, suddenly I have more friends compared to the people I remember.

Some of my friend do find my posts offensive, and yes, some have indeed unfriended me. With each friend you add and lose, you kinda get the whole idea of what people are actually doing in FB. You can generalize people to a lot of categories. For this entry we will be focusing on the macha’s on FB only.

As today happens to be International Ladies Day (admit it, if you didn’t have FB, you wouldn’t know), as a Public Service Announcement for our lovely ladies. I would like to highlight to the ladies, who should you avoid in FB.

Annoyance level is categorized by the general nuisance or “geram” this particular person causes you in your news feed.
Danger level, is categorized as the danger he might cause you if you get close. So here:

Gangster School – Satu Hati, Berani Mati

Nedumaran Elangovan

My late grandfather was a Tamil school headmaster (god bless his soul). His school, SJKT Kota Bharu was located deep inside an estate near Gopeng, Perak. This was during the 60s and 70s mind you. This was the time when the only way out from the cycle of poverty was education. Children went to school to learn, cycling for 10 km, through estate roads, come rain or shine. They cared about education. They knew what they had to do. And they did achieve success.

Being the educationist that he was, if he had take one look at the Indian students of today, it would have broken his heart beyond repair. One quick search on Facebook reveals a sorry sight for Indians. Tons of pages dedicated to idiotic gangs. And the members are all Indian school boys. Some even have school names associated with the gangs.

What we think Indian school kids are like

HOT – Gadis India Yang Terlampau

Durai Mama

Read more…

Tamil Schools : Moving Forward

Ruban

This is just an idea that has been going through my head for some time now. On how to not only preserve tamil schools and Tamil language in Malaysia, but allow it to grow and be a catalyst of change among our younger generation.

I always believe that we are hindered by the way we think and operate. Always inside the box. We need to shift the way we think.

My idea is this:

Slowly make all tamil schools as evening schools. Start like sekolah Agama. After 1 pm.Than Tamil Schools can really play the role of changing our society.Day time, all the indian students attend national schools or even chinese schools.Evening, let them go to tamil schools until atleast 6 or even 7 PM.

Here we can not only help them learn tamil, but act as a tuition centre to go through their homework and help them with maths and science and so much more. This would ensure that our kids get all the help that they can get to ensure that they come out as outstanding students.

We can than rope in volunteers from Institution of Higher education to conduct motivational classes, get coaches to help out with extras such as karate or football.

Bring in Indian professionals who genuinely want to help and expose our kids to a life that many of them might not have seen. We can incorporate these sort of meet our people who went through hardship but made something out of their lifes session once a month or so.

Why not even bring hardcore former criminals who learned their lessons in life and expose our students to what waits in store for those who think its cool to be in gangs and stuff.

Lets break this cycle and expose our kids to an alternate world that many of them might not have seen in their entire life. The world that Middle Class Indians have embraced and are doing really well in?We can also conduct religious educational classes, the real stuff, for parents who want their kids to get some basic knowledge, regardless what religion they are etc etc. Bring in Devaram, Kelas Mengaji, Bible Study groups. Kepada kaum India dan pihak berkuasa Malaysia

Vin Kumar

I think the title got your attention. Now, let me start.

Thaipusam is celebrated by Hindus (especially the Tamil community) to pay vows made to Lord Muruga (mainly) and other Hindu gods. It is one of Malaysia’s biggest attractions. Foreigners love the thaipusam atmosphere as they can see thousands of devotees fullfilling their vows by carrying milk pots, kavadis, getting pierced with belled hooks, etc.

(Continue to read it, I got my points coming up.)

Thaipusam brings good business to the Malaysian Tourism sector. It also brings a good name to our country as people worldwide talk about Thaipusam celebrated in Malaysia.

On the eve of Thaipusam, the Chariot procession takes place from the Amman temple in Lebuh Ampang until Batu Caves.

Hundreds of free- refreshment stalls are put up along the long journey for the devotees and walkers so that they can carry on their journey. Sometimes, there are even bare-footed devotees walking. Thaipusam is the only Hindu celebration I celebrate. So, it’s meaningful to me.

But from what I have seen since my first experience in KL Thaipusam is only 40%  of devotees. The balance 60% are punks who should not live. I don’t care of their families. These punks should be shot dead. Read more…

The Message From Bahau

Nedumaran Elangovan

“Bang, neenge jokka, puriyere mathiri sonningee!  Anaa, ennaku government  & DAP yethe pethi pesarange ne puriyelee bang!”

“Bro, you told me something that I could easily understand! But, I don’t know what Government and DAP is talking about bro!”

A reader of this blog messaged me in FB on Saturday. This guy seems to be quite young, I guess not more than 20 years old. He is from a town in Negri Sembilan, and looking at his profile, his family seems to be the semi-rural middle income Indian family .

Most likely, (with no disrespect) his parents are not professionals (in terms of career), and their main source of information is from the mainstream media. I don’t think that, they would have  heard about the key issues that are being fought over by the government and the opposition, as these issues is never discussed in the mainstream media.

In any other case, this teen would have become the poster boy of the Pemuda/Putera groups. From rural Malaysia, brainwashed by the media and worshipping the ‘youth leaders’ who actually are balls carriers of the organization heads.

Thanks to the internet though, this kid did see the world from a different point of view, and he did seek clarification when he didn’t understand.

Below, I have summarized some issues that we don’t see the any pejuang bangsa 1Malaysia talking about. These are not the only issues, but these are key issues, that I have never seen any pro-Putera bloggers talking about.

For you, brother from Bahau:

1.       National Feedlot Company Scandal (NFC)

Who: Government Minister and family.

What: Government give money (RM 250 million) for rearing of cows for meat, but they use for personal use, including paying for personal credit card, purchase of Mercedes and luxury apartments.

How will it affect you: The money is tax you or your family members paid. Unggal appa ode kaasu, yevan-yevano enjoy pannelama?

Last time, Indian people say "padikathi..poi maadu mei!". Nowadays, maadu keepers also become jutawan

2.       1Care Healthcare Scheme Read more…
